I don’t know about you but changing the clocks springs up on me from nowhere every single year. It’s only by the grace of modern technology (and my wife reminding me) that I actually end up in the right place at the right time each time they go backwards or forwards. Who knows, one day, technology might do it all for us and we won’t have to rely on shoddy memories. We’re not too far off that now really. It’s a strange old concept, daylight saving – isn’t it? But I’m certainly not complaining when it brings with it lighter mornings and longer evenings, with some sunshine (fingers crossed) to lift the spirits! After a challenging winter, I know I can’t wait for a few months of early morning walks to blow the cobwebs off and a stint of al fresco dining with a glass of wine in the evenings – bliss! Though you can never take April for granted as one moment it’s hot enough for shorts and the next moment it’s snowing!
As we move from Q1 to Q2 and the extra hour from daylight saving I think it’s worth thinking here about how you can use this time to benefit your business. With more light hours in the day and an injection of serotonin to boost our moods, everything feels a bit fresher and more exciting, the perfect opportunity to re-set goals and horizons as we prepare for Q2 – almost a second chance at a ‘new year, new me’ kickstart.
With Q1 officially closed and a new quarter beginning now is a great time to stop to reflect on what went well and…what didn’t. As we say hello to Q2, what actions are you taking to help better yourself as a business owner?
